Pumpkins After Dark Returns to Newbridge House This October

Thousands of hand-carved pumpkins, illuminated displays, live entertainment and autumn magic are coming to Newbridge House & Farm in Donabate this October.

Pumpkins After Dark returns to Dublin this October, transforming the grounds of Newbridge House & Farm into an illuminated Halloween trail for an evening experience that combines thousands of hand-carved pumpkins, live entertainment and the atmosphere of autumn after dark.

Running from 2nd to 31th October, the event will see the grounds of Newbridge House lit up with elaborate pumpkin creations, imaginative displays and specially designed photo opportunities.

At the heart of Pumpkins After Dark is its collection of hand-carved creations. Skilled artists transform ordinary pumpkins into intricate designs and characters before illuminating them throughout the trail, creating an impressive spectacle as visitors make their way through the grounds.

For 2026, visitors can expect returning favourites alongside brand-new pumpkin creations, new photo opportunities and a new pathway route, giving those who experienced the event previously something different to discover.

There will also be live pumpkin carving demonstrations, offering a glimpse into the craft behind the displays, as well as live entertainment throughout the evening.

While Halloween is traditionally associated with things that go bump in the night, Pumpkins After Dark takes a rather more family-friendly approach. There are no jump scares, with the focus instead on creativity, lights, music and the atmosphere of Halloween after dark. It makes the experience suitable for families while still offering something a little different for adults, whether you’re heading along with friends or looking for an October date night.

Seasonal food and sweet treats will also be available throughout the experience, while specially designed photo opportunities give visitors plenty of chances to capture the illuminated displays.

The setting itself adds to the appeal. Newbridge House & Farm provides a striking backdrop for an evening outdoors, with the historic estate taking on a completely different character once the sun goes down and the pumpkins begin to glow.

There will also be a sensory-friendly evening on Sunday, 11 October, providing a calmer experience for visitors who may benefit from a more comfortable environment. For those looking for a little extra Halloween atmosphere, Thriller Thursday dates will take place on 8, 15 and 22 October, with discounted admission available.

Getting to the event is straightforward, with Donabate DART station around a 15-minute walk from Newbridge House, while the 33B bus stops directly outside. Parking is also available, although spaces are limited and parking passes are separate from event tickets.

Whether you’re looking for something to do with the kids during October, planning a night out with friends or simply want to embrace the arrival of Halloween, Pumpkins After Dark offers an atmospheric way to spend an autumn evening in Dublin.

Pumpkins After Dark runs from 2–31 October 2026 at Newbridge House & Farm, Hearse Road, Donabate, Co. Dublin.
