At just six weeks long we always think it’s too short, but for us one of the joys of early summer is the advent of Asparagus Season and the thrill of seeing the appearance of fresh green spears beautifully plated in restaurants throughout the city.

One of our favourite ways to enjoy this annual Irish delight comes courtesy of the hospitable folk at Charlotte Quay, where the innovative kitchen team have devised a joyous starter of Charred Asparagus, Comtè Cheese, Hazelnut, Brown Butter and Truffle.

This wonderfully sunny dish can now be enjoyed ahead of dinner on one of their two salubrious outdoor Terraces, accompanied by one of the many lovely organic wines they have on offer.

There’s also a gorgeous selection of seasonal cocktails to choose from, making this stylish waterside hostelry the ideal spot to enjoy a carefree summer of stunning al fresco dining.

Open Tues to Fri 4:00pm – close; Sat & Sun from 12:00pm.

Last orders from the kitchen 9.45pm.
