Gift of Home 2026 – Follain X Simon

Posted 1 hour ago in Food & Drink Features

This year sees Irish artisan brand Folláin bringing its Gift of Home campaign back for a fifth successive Christmas, in a generous initiative that once again sees them donating 50% of proceeds from online sales between November 1st and December 31st to the Simon Communities of Ireland.

With almost 18,000 people reportedly living in emergency accommodation across Ireland, the campaign puts the focus firmly on the importance of home, family and community.

Speaking about the initiative, Managing Director, Míchéal Ó Lionáird said, “The reality that so many people in Ireland are facing Christmas without the security of a roof over their head is very difficult to reconcile with our idea of what Christmas should be. So much of our life and our work at Folláin revolves around home.

It’s where the business began, where many of our recipes and traditions came from, and where in Cúil Aodha, more than 40 years later, we still tend to gather as a family. Christmas probably brings the importance of all of that into sharper focus, but it also reminds us that the security of having a home is something we should never regard as a given.”

The West Cork family business has succeeded in raising €89,676 since 2021 while hopes are high that they will manage to pass the €100,000 mark this year.

As Míchéal Ó Lionáird so eloquently puts it, “This is our fifth year supporting Simon through Gift of Home. Over that time, it has become part of Christmas at Folláin, but I don’t think we should ever allow that familiarity to make the reason for the partnership feel routine.

Simon’s work matters enormously, and we’re very proud to stand behind it again this year.”
