Packed with amazing Irish produce, a regularly updated menu and available every weekend from here on in, project PICNIC is Go!  Founder Simone Cullen promises picnic indulgence for four or more, to be enjoyed wherever you like. The launch menu features a classic take on all things al fresco, created from produce supplied by such illustrious food suppliers as Ballymakenny Farm, Ring’s Chicken, McNally’s Farm and Clement & Pekoe.

A glance through the bill of fare reveals a choice of snacks including pistachio pork scotch eggs and bombay mix, with a choice of breads – molasses & caraway brown soda or sourdough baguette, depending on your fancy.

There’s also a substantial selection of innovative savouries to whet the average picnic planner’s appetite. The lush introductory launch menu features such delights as roast free range whole chicken with spiced salt, heritage pink fir apple potato salad, spicy green leaf mix, crunchy carrot & sunflower seeds and crisp radishes. Mmmm picnicky.

For sweet there’s a lush lemon ginger meringue pie with spiked lemon rooibos iced tea to sip, while garnishes and sauces include homemade mayo, chicken jus aioli and an ornate sounding Phoenix Park wild garlic butter. Priced from €82, we’re told it feeds four ‘lavishly’.

Followers can look forward to project PICNIC sharing their pick of uber-secret picnic spots each week, while Simone tells us that her top tips for great picnics include bringing bubbles, sitting on your best blanket, ramping up the glamour with proper plates and cutlery, but above all else, ALWAYS bringing your litter home. To which we can only add, Teddy Bear optional.

project PICNIC aims to use fully biodegradable or fully recyclable packaging, with biodegradable plates & cutlery available to include at an extra charge. Order via Insta DM by Thursday 4pm for Dublin city centre pick up on Friday, Saturday or Sunday at 11.30am or 2.30pm
