This autumn, Amsterdam-born hospitality brand The July brings its laid-back take on city living to Dublin, with a vibrant new aparthotel on Capel Street, alongside an exciting new neighbourhood restaurant offering the city’s foodies plenty to look forward to.
Ónora, developed in partnership with Dublin’s Bereen Brothers, looks set to be one of the big draws when The July Dublin opens its door this October.
The much anticipated opening marks the first venture north of the Liffey for Southside boys Conor and Marc Bereen, whose restaurant portfolio includes Coppinger, Orwell Road, Row Wines and Charlotte Quay, each with their own unique personality and offering.
We’re told that Ónora, whose name is rooted in Irish tradition and means honour, will focus on locally sourced produce featuring seasonal plates and carefully crafted cocktails, alongside a laid-back outdoor terrace and a fast-paced coffee hatch for those grabbing something on the go.
Designed around relaxed, all-day dining, the idea is less formal hotel restaurant, more neighbourhood spot – somewhere locals can drop in for breakfast, lunch, a coffee, a drink or a long, leisurely meal.
The restaurant forms part of The July Dublin, a new 140-apartment-style property designed to reflect the way people increasingly live, work and travel.
Guests can choose from studios and one-bedroom suites, with full kitchens and selected private terraces, while the building also features co-working spaces, a wellness area with sauna and gym, an on-site barber shop and top-floor city views.
The design sees the in-house team at The July, led by Dublin native Caitriona McGachy, working alongside interior studio Fettle drawing inspiration from many of the locality’s landmarks.
References to Dublin’s Georgian architecture, Smithfield Fruit Market, 14 Henrietta Street and Grattan Bridge abound, sitting nicely alongside nods to Irish designer Eileen Gray and a fine collection of curated local artwork.
With the dynamic Bereen Brothers bringing more than two decades of Dublin hospitality, taste and conviviality to the project, the new spot looks set to become a lively addition to Capel Street’s ever-evolving food and drink scene.

The July Dublin opens for stays from October 15th, with bookings now available.
