This month sees the return of The Big Grill festival, with another sizzling lineup featuring the kings and queens of low ‘n’ slow cooking.
And the numbers from this year’s festival are already stacking up… Now in its 13th year, the next few days will see Europe’s biggest BBQ Food Festival serve over 50 festival exclusive dishes from over 45 restaurants and vendors, alongside more than 50 cooking demonstrations, masterclasses and tastings.
International guests include Ali Clem, Tuffy Stone and Genevive Taylor, with a much anticipated turn from London’s Acme Fire Cult, the tasty restaurant venture involving Andrew Clarke and our old friend Steve Ryan.
Multi time world barbecue champion Tuffy Stone, also known as ‘The Professor’ for his meticulous approach to smoke, fire and technique, will be making the Bastecamp demo stage his own, while cooking and teaching across each day of the festival, giving Dublin audiences the chance to learn first hand from one of the best in the business.
We’re particularly looking forward to sinking our teeth into a Dripping Pit Beef Sandwich courtesy of Sweden’s Holy Smoke BBQ. It’s made of reverse seared top sirloin, bread and butter pickles and Dijon horseradish mayo in soft milk bread, served with a pot of rich bacon and onion jus for dipping.
Throughout the weekend festival-goers can also look forward to experiences ranging from Jamon and Wine to Steak and Whiskey, Chilli and Burger Eating Challenges, with loads of open fire action to keep things interesting.
With 25,000 people expected across the four days, it’s all Jamon Jamon at Offside, while tunes come courtesy of Sing Along Social, Claire Beck, Baz Hickey and more.
There’s also plenty to keep Little Grillers entertained, including kid’s cooking demos, hands on science and Europe’s biggest baby rave.
