The International Literary Festival Dublin (ILFD), returns to Merrion Square Park from May 15th-24th for its 28th consecutive year.  A teaser of the literary festival’s lineup recently dropped, and it does not disappoint.

Bursting with new stories to be heard directly from the writers’ mouths, the programme promises all the ingredients for a unique and insightful festival that’s perfect for novice readers and bookworms alike.

Among those attending are authors Colm Toibín, Richard Armitage, Doireann Ní Ghríofa, Maria Alyokhina and Tana French, who are set to bring their mastery, talents and stories directly to the audience as they chat on stage about their latest work.

Meanwhile, the International Literature Festival Dublin Schools Programme 2026 returns bigger and better than ever.  This years’ expanded youth programme boasts an abundance of literary events, offering a much-needed “Space to Imagine” to budding readers, writers, artists and curious minds alike.

There is something in store for all ages in this interactive literary day out, ranging from the littlest of school learners to those in 6th class.

A snapshot of the programme highlights includes shows like Fantastic Feline Frolics with Alan Windram and author Q&As with household favourites like Dave Rudden, Sarah Webb and Patricia Forde, as well as hands-on activities like Pocket Poems in the Park.
