Get Shucking! The Purty Kitchen Oyster Festival Returns This Bank Holiday Weekend!

Seafood season is officially on as The Purty Kitchen brings back its Oyster Festival for the June Bank Holiday weekend.

From 3pm daily in the sun-trap surroundings of The Courtyard, the Dún Laoghaire favourite will be serving freshly shucked oysters dressed three ways: classic shallot mignonette for the traditionalists, a punchy Bloody Mary dressing made with istil Vodka, and a zingy dulse granita with Dingle Gin for those leaning fully into coastal summer mode.

The oysters come courtesy of George’s Fish Shop, longtime seafood suppliers to The Purty Kitchen, with prices starting at €11 for three and topping out at €36 for a full dozen.

Drinks-wise, there’s a Frosted Dirty Martini featuring istil 38 Pot Still Vodka and olive brine, alongside the decidedly dangerous-sounding istil Pink Spritz with prosecco, soda, mint and lemon.

Oysters, cocktails and a long weekend in one of south Dublin’s best outdoor spaces. Count us in!

The Oyster Festival takes place in The Courtyard of The Purty Kitchen, Dun Laoghaire from Friday May 29th to Sunday May 31st.
