As Series 6 of Reeling in The Years hits our screens, we rummaged through the archives to see what we were listening to 10 years ago. We uncovered this little gem from 2011.

The Rubberbandits: I Wanna Fight Your Father

The fact is, that The Rubberbandits are pure class. In times of economic depression and societal unease, what we all need is two musically talented guys with plastic bags over their faces.

We laughed before we even heard their new song, but with a title like ‘I Wanna Fight Your Father’ you’d have to be dead on the inside to not want to smile upon hearing it.

Lyrically they deliver a top performance, which is only to be expected from them in fairness, but we were slightly stunned to find that the funky undertones of their previous songs which always ended up sounding messy and disjointed saved wholly by the hilarity of their lyrical genius have actually, manifested themselves in a very tight Scissor Sisters-esque style which totally complements the guys and makes ‘I Wanna Fight Your Father’ their best track yet.
