Heading out for an early evening dinner is just one of the many delights to be enjoyed at this time of year, and so, with the onset of winter, we have been whiling away our days exploring some of the most appetising tea time offerings in the city.

We recently spied a nice early bird menu at The Little Kitchen on Leeson Street, which offers plenty to chew on as the evenings draw in.

A generous selection of winter starters include dishes such as Surf ‘n’ Turf Crispy Pork Belly and Pan Fried Scallop with Carrot Puree, Mooli and Apples, alongside tasty Creamed Wild Mushrooms on Toasted Sourdough, accompanied by Rocket and Truffle Mayo.

Hearty mains include Hereford Short Rib of Beef, served with Crushed Winter Vegetables, Home Cut Fries, and Red Wine Jus, with a choice of gorgeous Pan-Fried Fillet of Hake, Mussel Bouillabaisse, Sauteed Baby Potatoes, Spinach and Garden Peas also on the menu. In addition to a range of seasonal desserts, a selection of cheeses can also be enjoyed for a small supplement.

With two courses for €30, and three courses for €36, the Early Bird menu is available between 5pm and 6.30pm, Tuesday to Thursday.
