We are continuing to see lots of love for all things plant-based, and now a vegan restaurant on Dublin’s Northside has launched its take on the most famous offering of a well-known fast-food joint.

Chefs at V Face in Stoneybatter have created the Mac D Lad, a vegan alternative to the Big Mac, made using a Smashed Beyond patty, served on a charcoal bun.

“No judgement for liking the taste of meat,” says the restaurant’s founder Sarah Boland, “you just won’t find any in our food.” Boland reckons that whether you’re a vegan or not the ‘Mac D Lad’ is a taste sensation, and definitely one for your burger bucket list.

In addition to animal burgers made with plants, the menu also includes vegan toasties and sausage rolls, juicy mushroom wings and a great selection of fries.

Mon to Sun 12 – 9pm. 30 Brunswick Street North, Stoneybatter.
