Check out the chilli kick of Fire&5th Chilli & Blood Orange, a non-alcoholic alternative to traditional spirits made from natural extracts and flavourings, giving taste buds an instant hit of fire and spice. The new Irish brand launched online and in stores, bars and off-licences in Dublin last month, and aims to offer a new type of social stimulation for those looking for an alternative to alcohol.

Fire&5th was developed by Mary and Aonghus Maguire in recognition of the significant opportunities currently available in the non-alcoholic category. Commenting on their new offering Aonghus Maguire said, “We know that globally the non-alcoholic category is growing faster than any other category within alcohol. (Source: IWSR). This excited us and when we looked at what was available today, we felt that there was real opportunity to be innovative in terms of the taste and experience.”

Fire&5th is created from a unique blend of natural extracts and flavourings. The signature taste notes of Chilli and Blood Orange come together with key ingredients including Ginger, Green Tea, Gaurana and Ginseng to give taste buds an instant hit of fire and spice, and an experience to remember. Its makers recommend serving it over ice, mixed with a premium ginger ale and garnished with an Orange slice.

“It’s not just an alt gin or vodka. It’s something truly unique at the forefront of the next generation of non-alcoholic drinks,” notes co-founder Mary Maguire. “Currently no/low options are doing a great job in helping people feel part of the occasion by looking like an alcoholic drink. We’re going beyond this by delivering a taste experience that means you really don’t miss the alcohol because of the heat and kick that Fire&5th provides.”

Fire&5th Chilli & Blood Orange is available online at fireand5th.com and in SuperValu stores in South Dublin as part of the Food Academy programme, as well as Redmond’s off-license in Ranelagh and The Virgin Mary Bar on Capel St.

Priced at €24.99 for a 700 ml bottle.
