The inaugural edition of JLF Island of Ireland is all set for a ten-day run covering venues in Belfast, Armagh, Dundalk and Dublin.
The festival, which takes place from May 22nd – 31st has unveiled an early peek into its 2026 programme and the conversations that will shape its diverse narrative.
JLF Island of Ireland is an international edition of the globally renowned Jaipur Literature Festival which takes place annually in the Pink City of Jaipur in Rajasthan, India.
In Dublin, the programme brings together writers and thinkers across literature, history, food, politics and global affairs, exploring the connections between Ireland, India and the wider world through a diverse range of conversations and performances.
Saturday evening will see a landmark musical collaboration between traditional Irish and Indian music featuring Aga Khan Music Award winner Soumik Datta on sarod alongside the Fedora Prize-winning composer and pianist Michael Gallen and bodhrán virtuoso Cormac Byrne. The performance takes place at St. Patrick’s Cathedral at 7.30pm.
Darina Allen, Romy Gill, Sinéad Gleeson, Gopalkrishna Gandhi, Fintan O’Toole and Sam McBride are some of the speakers so expect big crowds for this.
