Turner Watercolours at the National Gallery

Posted January 2, 2019 in Arts & Culture Features

That January light means one thing – the return of the annual Turner Exhibition at The National Gallery.

In the heart of winter, the annual exhibition of J.M.W. Turner’s luminous watercolours is a restorative ritual for many visitors, and a newly discovered jewel for others.

The exhibition includes three Venetian views by Turner, making it the perfect accompaniment to Canaletto and the Art of Venice,  currently showing at the Gallery.

Why not get into your 2019 cultural stride by visiting both exhibitions to discover the differing approaches taken by the artists as they attempted to capture the essence of the city?
