For almost a decade now, Film In Dublin has been a guide to Irish film fans, posting news, reviews and interviews on Irish and international cinema and putting a spotlight on cinema in the city. Now a funky new addition to their merch takes that mission one step further.
Designed by illustrator Amy Lauren, who specialises in bespoke illustration for animated storytelling, and branding illustration, their new tote bag depicts what they regard as must-see movie houses in town. Luke Dunne, editor of Film in Dublin tells us that as a longtime collaborator with Film In Dublin, “Amy’s vibrant, exciting and expressive style was perfect for bringing their favourite spots in the city to life.”
The design uses a key to show which ones are the best hang out spots, where to go for classic screenings, how to have an immersive screen experience and most importantly, where to get your snacks on, etc.
Luke adds, “Film In Dublin is about celebrating the culture of the fair city of film, so we asked artist Amy Lauren to develop a ‘Cinemap’ of sorts, pinning the locations of some of Dublin’s iconic movie houses down on a map of the city, for you to carry your bits and bobs, snacks and all-sorts from screening to screening.”
The totes are available now for the princely sum of €15. Grab ’em here.
