But considering the reportedly dark times Eminem’s been going through of late, it seems surprising, not mention insincere, for him to mark his return with a track less epic and serious and more in the vein of his joker alter-ego ‘Slim Shady’. ‘We Made You’ is a predictable barrage of petty celeb-bashing, and though the humour’s as sharp and the rapping as tight as ever, there isn’t much more to this track than an onslaught of insults at the most obvious targets. Lyrics reveal a preoccupation with lesbian couples, also the rapper really needs to get over Britney Spears, it’s been done years ago and frankly accusing her of ‘Rytalin binges’ is a case of pot and kettle.
