So, it’s a given that we’re stuck on the isle for another month at least. And we know that even if things do open, Delta variant dependent, the cost and queues for foreign travel will be massively unappealing until autumn at the earliest. So, it’s time to spin the staycation compass again.

Wanderlust explores over 30 great hiking trails across Europe including The Hornstrandir Trail (Iceland), Mettelhorn in the Alps or the Transcaucasian Trail in Georgia. But for the moment, you’ll be dog-earring its one Irish entry on page 17.

The Kerry Way on the Iveragh Peninsula is listed as ‘easy to moderate’, takes seven to nine day and covers 200km. Of course, it would be remiss not to mention that you can also briefly detour to climb our highest peak at Carrauntoohill (1038m) which our editor is not shy of boasting about doing last year.
