The Rediscovery Centre is currently spearheading a national project entitled Circular.ie that is establishing a knowledge centre for excellence in circular economy communications to drive citizen engagement and action. As Ireland’s journey toward a circular economy continues, they’ve issued a final call for applications for this year’s Circular Communication Grants, which sees a specific invitation being offered to Dublin based organisations to apply.

Valued at €100,000 in total, the programme offers funding and hands-on mentorship to help community organisations across Dublin to spread the word about their circular projects. There are two funding options available:

  • Circular Communications Core – a €1,000 grant to help community groups, social enterprises and circular initiatives invest directly in communications and marketing activities such as digital campaigns, event promotion or materials that showcase their work.

  • Circular Communications Connections – a €5,000 grant that includes tailored mentorship from communications and marketing professionals to help groups plan and deliver impactful campaigns that raise awareness of circular living in their communities.

The grants are designed to support organisations working in areas such as reuse, repair, waste prevention and resource sharing, from upcycling workshops and repair cafés to refill stations and swap shops.

Encouraging communities to act now, Claire Downey, CEO of The Rediscovery Centre, says, “These grants are a golden opportunity for those communities to get the message out there, inspire change, and reach and engage new audiences. We don’t want anyone with a great idea to miss out.”

Eligible applicants include community groups, voluntary and non-profit organisations, and small businesses with a community mission delivering environmental, social or cultural impact in the circular economy. Circular.ie is committed to empowering community-based organisations in Dublin with their work, while also focusing on establishing a network of like-minded organisations throughout the city and across the country.

Applications for the Circular Communication Grants close on 7 November 2025.  Applications can be made quickly and easily through the online portal.

Circular.ie is Ireland’s national platform for circular economy communications, developed by The Rediscovery Centre with support from the Department of Climate, Energy, and the Environment through the Circular Economy Fund. The platform makes circular living simple and accessible, providing resources, ideas and inspiration to help people and communities reduce waste, save money and create positive change.
