When The Central Hotel closed down with it went legendary Dublin social institutions The Library Bar (venue for thousands of journalistic interviews and an unparalleled meeting spot for those in the know) and, by default, The Globe and RíRá, two venues under the Central’s landlordship.
It’s just reopened as The Hoxton, a boutique chain hotel that ‘tips its hat at traditional Irish autumnal palettes and pub design’.
We’ve seen the photos and there’s no doubt it’s a stylish refit but…. will it have that beloved soul that the Central once had?
