We’ve been treating ourselves to a slice of Service Please With Charly, a hugely enjoyable new podcast series that takes a deep dive into the life, work and characters behind the scenes of the Irish hospitality sector.

Billed as ‘a space for creatives to have an open chat about the hospitality industry in Ireland’, each episode sees genial host Charly Egan chewing the fat with legends of the trade about the joys and tribulations of working in the service sector here. Whether you’ve done time in kitchens, lurked on the floor or just appreciate the art of good hospitality, this one’s for you.  

As Charly explains, “Each episode will feature captivating stories, industry insights and the passion that drives our amazing hospitality community. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just curious about the behind-the scene magic, there’s something for everyone.”

And something for everyone there most certainly is, with topics to date ranging from people-pleasing, bad behaviour, and building community to AI, Social Media, and hair-raising events with customers.

Less TED Talk, more late-night lock-in, guests so far have included Matt Murphy, the creative force behind festival fav Bish Bosh Kitchen, DJ turned chef Billy Scurry and hospitality kings Marc and Conor Bereen.
