Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness…

As the country’s orchards give up the bounty of their annual harvest, Boann Distillery invites sippers to raise a glass to the season with a new cocktail celebrating the delicious flavours of apples freshly picked from its own orchard.

Boann’s new 1848 Harvest Hot Toddy is made with handpicked apples grown at the foot of the Hill of Tara in the Cooney family apple orchards. Perfect enjoyed as part of  a simple yet sophisticated cocktail that showcases their award-winning 1848 Apple Brandy in all its glory, Sally-Anne Cooney of Boann Distillery describes the new tipple as ‘autumn in a glass’.

Located just outside Drogheda, in Co. Meath, the family-owned distillery is home to Ireland’s only working cooperage and has a firm commitment to celebrating the rich history of Irish spirits through innovation and sustainability.

Sharing the recipe for the seasonal new brew Sally-Anne Cooney says; “We love that our apple orchards not only give us the apple blossom and fruit for our Silks Gin but also provide the perfect base for 1848 Apple Brandy. This hot serve is warming, spiced, and perfect for sharing as the nights draw in for fireside sipping, crisp evenings, or a seasonal get-together.”
