This month sees Wexford Street restaurant and listening bar Barebone inviting Dubliners to embrace the warm crackle of vinyl with an immersive spin through some terrific recordings, played in full on their custom-built sound system.
Designed to put the music front and centre, this month sees their Women on Fire series celebrating iconic female artists, with evenings dedicated to Etta James (Aug 6th), Janis Joplin (Aug 13th), Lauryn Hill (Aug 20th) and Alanis Morissette (August 28th).
Inspired by the listening bars of Tokyo and New York, the experience sees Barebone pairing its audiophile setup with charcoal-fired cooking, great cocktails and an atmosphere where the record is the main event. Located over two floors, the restaurant and bar offers a signature vinyl DJ music policy rooted in Soul, Funk, R&B, and Hip Hop.
Owner Ian Keogh says, “We wanted to create something for people who still get chills from a needle dropping on the right record. The series offers guests a chance to fall back in love with the albums that raised them, glass in hand. It’s less a listening session and more a shared memory in the making.”
One for those who still believe a great album deserves undivided attention.
