The name employed by duo Oskar Gullstradand and Stefan Storm seems to prefigure darts of criticism, but second single ‘Into the Clouds’ is an engrossing and dreamy affair. The former house music-maker and graphic designer set their sights on MGMT’s market, with a unicorn-trippy video and the glassy pop melancholia expected of Swedish acts. But this track is indebted to ‘Dreamwave’, a web of sounds pulling us back momentarily to childhood through the unexpected medium of two Nordic hipsters. The Sound of Arrows are the wide-eyed, uncynical alternative to UK brethren such as The Big Pink, more willing to wear their sparkly hearts on their sleeves.
