Best known for a cameo in Lady Gaga’s Telephone music video and as the opening act on Gaga’s Monster Ball tours, Semi Precious Weapons is not a timid or understated group. The American glam-rock quartet uses their self-titled single to introduce their philosophy of outrageous glamour and big attitude. Shouted lyrics like “I got big lungs that could kill your chorus” and “I know you want to be me but baby it ain’t easy” are backed up with a drum-heavy rhythm and a general air of confidence. Similarities to Lady Gaga can be heard in the lyrics, but are more obviously seen in the video, with singer Justin Tranter rocking platinum blonde hair, makeup and crazy clothes.
