The first glimpse of new material on RJD2’s RJ’s Electrical Connections imprint hints that the hugely talented label boss could be back to what he knows best. After his poorly received album, The Third Hand, saw RJD2 flirting with acoustic folk, it’s good to see the American producer embracing sample heavy hip hop beats, which he does so well. Accompanied by a hilariously bizarre video featuring a pill popping, smart car-driving Minotaur; the lead single ‘Let There Be Horns’ is a choppy instrumental track with more brass than you can wave a stick at.
