Enemies have more than a whiff of I Am Brazil-album Redneck Manifesto about them, but these 9 tracks stand out for their moments of microscopic cleverness. We’ve Been Talking’s ingeniousness lies in the minute flourishes and in its evasion of cliché – rather than the stadium-scaling peripeteias of most instrumental guitar music, WBT sticks to subtlety and consistency of mood to make what may be the first ever math rock summer album. Irish guitar music continues to strike oil.
