Coma Cat

Hamburg wonder boy Ten Snake had a landmark year in 2009. His beautiful ep ‘In The End I Want You To Cry’ became a bona fide anthem and earned him massive plaudits. With the disco world in rapture for his next release, Ten Snake has released Coma Cat, a thoroughly disappointing effort. This tune falls well wide of the borderline cheesy mark, and the calypso synths that accompany the vocal are slightly too Tiki Bar at sunset for my liking. A little bit of digging reveals that Coma Cat is a direct rip of Anthony and The Camp’s eighties hit ‘What I Like.’ After a string of excellent releases, its disappointing to see Tensnake loosely re-hashing far superior eighties tracks.
