Featuring song titles like ‘Retard Canard’ and lyrics like “The only time I make sense is when I’m talking in my sleep”, the Canadian trio’s second album is a difficult record to warm to. Luke LaLonde’s artfully strained vocals aren’t much help either on this staccato collection of largely pedestrian indie. Sole Brother is one highlight, despite the awful titular pun. “I just want to set the world on fire” opines LaLonde on Retard Canard. Unlikely.
