Some debuts are interesting because of the potential displayed in the unpolished music. K.R.I.T. went through that already, however, on three album quality mixtapes, and his major label debut presents a complete rapper, dripping confidence to match his unquestioned ability. Tracks like Cool 2 Be Southern and I Got This compromise country consciousness for raucousness but, with plenty of the former in the second half of the album, that’s a uniformly good thing. The new blood of the old South has arrived in force.
