Amanda Blank – Shame On Me

Posted October 6, 2009 in Music Reviews

Funkier and tighter than previous efforts and not as embarrassing as the quite turgid ‘Might Like You Better’, Amanda Blank’s second single is arguably one of the better tracks off the tragically titled I Love You. Circling on Blank’s nasally vocals which are layered on top of a sassy and punchy pop hotbed, the single is a stubborn grower. ‘Shame On Me’ contains enough ingredients to make it stand out among the waves of similar, female-fronted radio hits of the moment but it’s unlikely to catapult Blank into the mainstream. Think Peaches minus the dirty lyrics and a quarter of the attitude.
