Emerging from a sweaty mist of wires, beats and pure energy, the duo of Logan Takahashi and Nick Weiss make warped house and techno, just twisted enough to keep you guessing. What they do is almost the opposite of “functional” dance music, rather it swells and breathes in unexpected ways, changing pace or direction almost at will. While their earliest work was shrouded in lo-fi fuzz, debut album 7AM showed enough depth to transcend those first tracks, and better them in the form of ‘Cheaters’, an alt-anthem if ever there was one.

Now the pair are back with their second full-length, this time on the legendary R&S, and they’ve stepped up their game again, showing off an increased knowledge of the dancefloor and a new confidence in manipulating it.

Last time they were in Dublin, they played next to the toilets downstairs in the Thomas House. Tonight, things will be a little different.
