Six Cool Christmas Markets Happening in Dublin This Weekend!

Twinkling lights, festive atmosphere and a drop of good old fashioned seasonal magic… we love a good Christmas market! There are at least six happening in Dublin this weekend, and here at Totally Dublin, we’re looking forward to donning our scarves, meeting the makers, and bagging ourselves a lovely selection of creative, Irish-made prezzies and gifts.

 

Eco Christmas Craft Market at The Botanic Gardens

Christmas is definitely in the air as the traditional Christmas Craft Market returns to Dublin’s historic Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin this weekend.

Meander your way around a selection of magical indoor and outdoor stalls set against the backdrop of those stunning historic glasshouses. With over seventy vendors offering a tempting selection of sustainable gift ideas, decorative craft, and tasty seasonal treats, you’re sure to find something cool to tempt your yuletide fancy.

Entry is free.

Saturday Dec 10th and Sunday Dec 11th from 10am – 4pm.

Christmas Market in Stillgarden Village, Dublin 8

The garlands are up at Stillgarden Distillery in Dublin 8, ahead of a festive weekend with loads of opportunities to pick up some lovely local goods and enjoy a tipple or two while mooching around the stalls.

In addition to a range of art, craft and design goodies, there’s a wealth of yuletide food and drink on offer from a variety of street vendors and vans, with vegan and vegetarian options also available. Entertainment includes live music AND a choir, along with a fashion show run in conjunction with NCBI, showcasing the many pre-loved options available to buy in the city’s charity shops.

Entry is free, but visitors are encouraged to support local charities through donation upon entry, as well as through the many raffles for great prizes taking place over the weekend. Worth supporting if you can!

Fumbally Christmas Market

Whatever the weather this weekend, artisan stalwarts The Fumbally have you covered. They’re hosting a small indoor community-focused market on this, the second weekend of December, featuring the work of a selection of great local food producers, independent creatives, artists and crafters.

Rotating stallholders include Harry’s Nut ButterAll Around the Sun, Dublin Honey Project, White Masau, and artist Ellie Dunne, amongst many others.

Friday Dec 9th from 12 – 7pm and on Saturday, Dec 10th and Sunday Dec 11th from 10am – 6pm.

Honest 2 Goodness Winter Fair

Honest To Goodness in Glasnevin continues to offer a plentiful selection of ethical, local artisan foods and wines each weekend, but this Sunday is looking pretty special. They host their annual H2G Winter Fair at the Honest 2 Goodness Market building between 2-5pm this Sunday December 11th, with advice and food matching suggestions from their friendly and knowledgeable staff and over forty great wines available to taste and enjoy at your leisure.

€10 from each €35 ticket sale for this year’s event goes to support the local Crossguns Campaign.

Ethical Christmas Market at Airfield Estate

Check out the Ethical Christmas Market which takes place at Airfield Estate throughout the month of December. The market supports social enterprises and small, local businesses, and features stall holders including We Make Good, eco toy store Jiminy, and Stephen Tierney Ceramics, amongst many, many others.

With plenty of opportunities to pick up something that little bit different for your nearest and dearest, entrance to the market is free. Opening hours are as follows:

December 8th – 22nd December 11 am – 7 pm; December 23rd 11am – 2pm

Winteryard

Winteryard, a festive seasonal celebration brought to you by the food loving team at Eatyard is up and running throughout the month, boasting markets and plenty of festive games, films, karaoke and Christmas craic, to see you safely through the winter season.

There’s also a great selection of festive food and drink to be had from a variety of street food vendors. Winteryard runs every Thursday to Sunday to the last weekend in January.
