Some great news. Give Us the Night, an independent volunteer-led group co-founded by Dublin DJ Sunil Sharpe has long pushed for better nightlife advocacy in the city.
The group proposed new designated poster spaces around Dublin to help keep street-level promotion of gigs and events alive.
While Dublin City Council argued most music and event promotion has moved online, the group pushed back, stressing the importance of cultural spaces and the impact of physical posters in the city.
The motion was passed following the Strategic Policy Committee (SPC) meeting, meaning more event posters will soon appear across Dublin’s streets.
