Roadmap: Kingdom Come

Posted May 9, 2018 in More

Swaziland in Southern Africa is at the coalface of the ongoing AIDS epidemic, with an estimated one third of the population living with HIV.

While spending six months in the country to work on his recently founded charity Art Aid, Irish fashion photographer Aidan O’Neill started to build an intimate and insightful photo series.

His pictures document the daily life of the population, finding moments of joy and humanity, as well as sadness and tragedy, presenting the real lives behind the statistics.

The series has been collected in a book, The Kingdom, published this month. All proceeds from the sale of the book will go to mothers2mothers, a charity working to eradicate the transference of AIDS to newborn babies.
