The YA fiction market is lucrative business and one which we’re, admittedly, not well versed in besides having a copy of Deirdre Sullivan’s Tangleweed and Brine, replete with gorgeous design by Karen Vaughan, in our possession.
Paper Lanterns is “the teen and young adult literary journal” pointing towards the stars of tomorrow. Boasting art, poetry, reviews, photography, flash fiction, short stories and interviews, it’s a trawling ground for fresh talent.
We were particularly taken by Olivia Boylan’s cover art which is inspired by an image taken by NYC youth culture photographer Sophie Day and Oyanne Gahan’s short story, Anniversary.
