It always feels that bit more thoughtful when you see something of Irish design under the Christmas tree rather than yet another homogenous River Island scarf, and this year you’ll be able to do just that without being broke for the month of January. Ten young Irish designers are teaming up to hold a Black Friday sale next Thursday November 26th to Saturday 28th November in the RSAI, Merrion Square. Black Friday might be something we associate with fistfights and riots in New York, but it’s unlikely you’ll see any of that at this one of a kind Irish design event.
Designers Manley, Willow & Clo, Electronic Sheep, Laura Kinsella, Capulet & Montague (pictured below), Niamh O’Neill, We are Islanders, Giovanna Borza, Jill De Burca and Mona Swim will all be taking part in the event, which will showcase the best and brightest of young Irish design at bargain prices.
Mulled wine and nibbles are assured, and the event promises to leave you with some unique items in your wardrobe and even a few coins left jangling in your pockets at the end of it all. From millinery to jewellery and knitwear to high fashion, you’re bound to cross at least your Mum and your sister off the Christmas shopping list.
The Irish Designer Black Friday Sale will take place in RSAI, 63 Merrion Square, Dublin 2 and will run on Thursday November 26th from 10am-10pm, Friday November 27th from 10am-7pm and Saturday November 28th from 10am-4pm.
