This month sees Childline calling on families, schools, clubs, and workplaces across the city to come on board and host a breakfast event to help raise much needed funds to support the work of the organisation.
In recent times the country’s only 24/7 listening service for children and teenagers has seen a dramatic rise in demand, as children reach out to talk to staff and volunteers about issues ranging from family relationships, to mental and emotional health, and sexual abuse.
As part of the fundraising initiative, those who sign up to host a breakfast will receive an ISPCC Breakfast Pack, including a fresh delivery of McCambridge Bread, and a digital pack with conversation starter cards designed by therapeutic experts at Childline to encourage adults to check-in with the children and young people in their lives.
As Deirdre McNamara, of the ISPCC, says, “Even a small donation can make a big difference for children who need someone to listen.”
Please support if you can.
