This December sees the advent of the Winter Wonderland Trail at Airfield, as the estate endeavours to make good on its ambition to become Dublin’s sustainable food hub. As part of this process, the conscientious folk there have decided to temporarily pause their traditional Christmas Experience with Santa to facilitate a fascinating reimagining of what Christmas could potentially look like in a sustainable food hub at Airfield in the coming years.

Details of this inviting new initiative include opportunities to embrace a more sustainable way of celebrating the season while learning a variety of new skills. There’s an exciting host of alternative festive activities to be enjoyed at the estate this year, including sustainable food workshops, cooking classes, and a variety of craft and floristry events including a festive wreath making class on December 19th.

Meanwhile, as part of this year’s Supper Club Series, Chef Jess Murphy of Galway’s Kai Restaurant oversees ‘An Alternative Christmas’ meal at Overends Kitchen on 7th December, with tickets priced at €75, or €115 with wine pairings. The price includes a welcome drink and snacks, followed by what promises to be a spectacular four-course meal.
