Tír Deli on Hatch Street

One of the saddest things for observers of Dublin’s food and drink scene last year was witnessing the demise of so many food and drink outlets, a large proportion of which had only just opened their doors in the optimistic days following the lifting of Covid restrictions last Spring. We were particularly sorry to bid adieu to those championing the work of other Irish artisan suppliers and producers such as deli king Shane Kelly, who was forced to close the Baggot Street branch of Tír Deli at the beginning of December.

While acknowledging that, “it’s tough out there and we just couldn’t find a way to make it work,” Kelly will no doubt be hoping that fans of their delicious sandwich menu can see them through at his outlet off Hatch Street. The attention to detail involved in their brilliantly prepared nostalgic Irish classics has seen them garner a steady following over the past year.

Their incredibly tender Roast Beef Sandwiches are made using top-notch succulent Dexter Beef, smoke-roasted until it’s pink and delicious, then served with Red Onion Marmalade, Irish Cheddar, Horseradish Mayo, seasonal greens and Salt and Vinegar Crisps.

We wish them well in 2023.
