Inspired by a brief sojourn in Boston, a city famed for hosting a riotous tea party back in 1773, entrepreneur Cian Stanley arrived back to Ireland on a mission to bring the first non-sparkling alcoholic iced tea to Irish shores.
Its founder tells us that the light and fruity iced tea was born through a casual conversation with a friend, following which the new bevvie took six months to perfect before going into production and launching as Lay-Low Hard Iced Tea this Spring.
He adds, “When we realised that there wasn’t an alcoholic iced tea in the Irish market, I decided to change that. Lay-Low is about savouring those moments in life, significant or small, spent with your people.”
And presumably laying low afterwards…
Currently available in two flavours – Lemon and Peach – the unique blend comes in at 4.5% ABV, with 90 calories and 0 grams of sugar per can.
It can be found in retailers including Supervalu, Centra, and independent off license retailers in association with Dunnes Stores.
