Off The Cuffe is an artisan bitters company, co-founded by Jarrod Cuffe in a little laboratory on Kings Inn Street in 2015. From there, the company has seen their handcrafted Irish bitters earn global recognition for an innovative approach to flavour and balance.

All the more impressive for a few upstarts trying something interesting, particularly in a country that believes anything but a thimbleful of water in whiskey is a sin.

In 2019, Cuffe, along with Chris Hennessey, revived a 700 year old recipe regarded as the very source of whiskey in Ireland. This new tipple, Aqua Vitae, is the result of over three years of exhaustive research and translation, deciphering compound Latin to resurrect ancient flavours for modern palates.

Jarrod was kind enough to share a recipe that you might like to try to get you over the close of the cold snap.

Hot water to top

1 dash of Marmalade Citrus Irish bitters to finish
