Canal-side dining, a sophisticated lounge, and a private event space…
That’s the vision behind Mareé, a brand new dining spot in Bolands Mills dreamed up by award-winning Dublin chef Karl Whelan.
The man who was previously involved in the first iteration of great kitchens such as Luna and Hang Dai is conjuring up a culinary experience that looks set to serve up modern Irish food with a French accent.
To be fair, the restaurant’s Insta profile is much less prosaic, describing the venture simply as a ‘New French place on Barrow Street, opening Summer 2026′, but don’t be fooled.
Once open the city’s diners can undoubtedly look forward to enjoying a series of deliciously inventive dishes made with ingredients that are local, seasonal, and sustainable.
The new eatery will be housed in the 150-year-old Miller’s Lodge, a two story space currently being kitted out in all its glory down by the water’s edge.
The restaurant is currently busy hiring staff, with bookings for Summer 2026, opening this Monday, May 25th.
All that and some great hospitality too. We can’t wait!
