Wandering around town today? Get a taste of some bite-sized brilliance as the city welcomes the Michelin Awards to Dublin.
As Michelin rolls into town this week the genial folk at Host have got together with many of the legends of Dublin’s food scene to prepare a big cead mile failte courtesy of The Chef Sessions, a cracking series of festive-style pop-ups, collabs and late-night bites running across the city ahead of the announcement of the annual awards this week.
With the creme de la creme of international chefs, restaurateurs and food media descending on the city for the ceremony at the Convention Centre, the sessions give Dublin’s visitors and diners, something new to experience across the Michelin weekend.
Events so far have seen Marcus O’Laoire and Thom Lawson kick things off at Rei Momo with a bistro-Brazil spin on the once-legendary “substantial meal” aka chicken in a basket. Other highlights saw Barry Sun of Volpe Nera collaborating with the team at Hang Dai for a tasty Northern Chinese–leaning, family-style supper packed with oysters, dumplings, char siu tarts, while over at Frank’s Wine Bar, Cúán Greene of Ómós had them queuing down the block as he dished up a brace of hotdogs, one classic, one seasonal paired with some delicious natural wines.
If you’re wandering around town today, there are still some brilliant bite-sized moments worth catching as Dublin does its thing – feeding everyone, welcoming the world, and having the craic while doing it.
The Mother of All Breakfast Muffins

Mark Moriarty, Bar 1661 and Egan’s join forces for a top-tier breakfast roll moment: sausage, egg, lardo, cheddar and pickled mayo, with Belfast Coffees and Bloody Monks on standby. Delish!
A Michelin-Worthy Toastie

Chestnut’s Rob Krawczyk pops up at Row Wines with a kassler, sour cabbage and Gubbeen toastie, with ingredients supplied by Fairmental.
€12 for the toastie, €5 for the wine — honestly, it’s no wonder this one’s already sold out.
Spice Bags, But Make It Swanky

The Sisters of Smithfield close things out with lobster, confit duck and short rib spice bags at Sister 7, sound-tracked by DJ legend Sally Cinnamon.
