Burns Night Supper at L Mulligan in Stoneybatter

As lovers of the tartan, we always like to keep a beady eye on proceedings at a certain Stoneybatter hostelry at this time of year. The hospitable folk at L Mulligan have been hosting a rousing annual celebration of all things Caledonian for more years than we care to remember, carefully honing their well-established culinary homage to Scotland’s most famous bard with each carefully curated iteration.

Their tribute to ‘Rabbie Burns’ usually features an innovative menu made using seasonal Irish produce that manages to keep faith with the classic Burns Night tradition of Haggis, Neeps, and Tatties. The Bill of Fare includes such delights as cock-a-leekie soup, house-made haggis, smoked fish and lorne sausage.

The delicious menu is followed by a cracking night’s entertainment in the form of some rousing verses of poetry and that all important ‘Address to a Haggis.

2024 Burns Night at L Mulligan

The proceedings usually wind up with a ‘Toast to The Lassies’, and a very fine dram of whiskey. Experience has taught us that the perennially popular event on Manor Street sells out quickly, so you’ll need to act fast if you want to bag your Burns Night Supper there.

They tell us that, “A full vegan and vegetarian menu is available upon request for the lads and lassies who don’t eat meat including vegan haggis and lovely gravy and there are non-alcoholic and non-whisky pairing options available.” So don’t be shy – if you advise them of any dietary restrictions when booking they’ll do their best to accommodate your requirements.

The 2025 Burns Night Supper takes place at L Mulligan on Saturday January 25th. Doors 5.30pm for a 6pm start. Tickets €75.
