Twenty years of championing Irish food, provenance and culinary tourism will be firmly in the spotlight this November as Good Food Ireland marks its milestone anniversary with a gala awards ceremony in Dublin.
Founded in 2006 by entrepreneur Margaret Jeffares, the organisation has spent the past two decades putting Irish food and the people at the heart of it firmly on the map.
Connecting farmers, fishers, producers, chefs, hospitality businesses and visitors, its quality-assured network fosters authentic food and drink experiences in a variety of ways, ranging from farm visits and tastings to restaurant, hotel and food experiences, while championing sustainability, local sourcing and Ireland’s rich food heritage.
This year’s landmark anniversary awards will also recognise outstanding achievements across food, drink, hospitality and culinary tourism, including a new Best Irish Seafood Experience category, while also presenting awards in three key categories – Irish Food & Hospitality Ambassador, Lifetime Achievement Award and Supreme Award of the Year.
The event takes place at the InterContinental Dublin on November 16th. Tickets costing €200 can be booked through their website.
