Bitesize: Neighbourhood Steak Nights

Such has been the success of Chef Gareth Naughton’s Thursday Steak Night offering, that the team at Neighbourhood in Naas recently announced the extension of the menu for another eight weeks.

The innovative no waste initiative sees the use of beef and offcuts from just one Tipperary-bred Black Angus Heifer, with any offcuts then used to make everything from their Neighbourhood Burgers to their meaty new signature cocktail, The Beef Fat Washed Manhattan.

Naughton’s exciting selection of mains brilliantly succeeds in showcasing prime cuts, with a different cut of steak served in rotation throughout the eight week period. Each comes accompanied by sides of tasty triple cooked beef fat chips, pepper sauce and a wedge salad with pickled shallots, beef fat croutons and a tarragon ranch dressing.

Starters on the evolving menu include French Onion Soup served with Bone Marrow, Chive, Cáis na Tíre and Beef Fat Toast, while diners can expect some additional surprises, with a series of new menu additions and variations set to change weekly.

A tasty dessert menu includes a twist on some old school classics, including Rhubarb Jelly and Ice Cream, served with a Blood Orange Sorbet and Custard Foam, and Chocolate Fondant with tasty Malt Ice Cream.

The meaty menu runs until Thursday July 11th, with two and three course options available, starting from €45 for two courses and €48 for three.
