From tacos to tapas and spice bags to sushi, we’re looking forward to getting our hands on four tantalizing little books with big voices, courtesy of an inaugural series of publications by Blasta Books.

Writer and Editor Kristin Jensen has harnessed the talents of an array of gastronomically knowledgeable chefs and foodophiles, each of whom succeeds in packing seventy-five pages of pure cooking joy between vibrant, colourful covers designed by Jane Matthews, with artwork beautifully realised by Nicky Hooper.

Leading the way is Lily Ramirez Foran, the talented founder of Picado Mexican, with her tome on Tacos, swiftly followed by Hot Fat from Drogheda’s finest, Gastro Gays, Russell Alford and Patrick Hanlon.

Both publications roll off the presses in the first part of the year, with The United Nations of Cookies by Jess Murphy of Kai and Eoin Cluskey and Wok by Kwanghi Chan due later in 2022.

They’ve got some lovely merch too.
