With Leonard’s Corner joining John Mahon’s much loved family of Dublin 8 boozers, the pub has announced plans for its first food event – a leisurely Sunday lunch packed with hearty dishes and interesting things to drink.
They’re encouraging diners to ease themselves out of hibernation by joining them on February 2nd for A Long Sunday Lunch, when they’ll be welcoming Mowgli, a roaming pop-up celebrating produce-led cooking, led by the gifted Tom Hayes, whose work features a simple approach: exceptional ingredients, treated with care.
Those heading to this special afternoon lunch are in for a rare treat, as anyone who has been to previous events organised by Hayes will readily concur. Mowgli has previously popped up at an open-fire lunch at Body & Soul, a long-table feast in a 400-year-old hay shed, and a weekend of natural wine and clams at Dick Mack’s in Dingle.
Now it’s Dublin’s turn, and just look at that menu… Guests can look forward to a starter of Bread, Cockles and Mussels for the table, mains featuring a Cassoulet of Lunasa Farm Pork and Borlotti Beans, and greens for the table, followed by Rice Pudding with New Season Rhubarb and Blood Orange Compote, Crème Fraîche for dessert. It’s going to be incredible way to celebrate the Bank Holiday Weekend.
Ticket holders are welcome to arrive from 12.30pm to get settled in over a drink or two from the bar. Lunch will be served from 1.30pm.
See you there!
The Long Sunday Lunch at Leonard’s Corner takes place at 1.30pm on Sunday February 2pm. Tickets at €45 are very limited.
