Following the city’s North Circular Road through the urban neighbourhoods from the Phoenix Park to Dublin Bay, director Luke McManus’s North Circular promises to evoke many narratives from the history of the city, and also the urgent issues of today, with the contemporary crisis around housing and land use finding a rebellious expression in the campaign to save the Cobblestone Pub from redevelopment.

Shot in luminous black and white, North Circular also features performances from some of the outstanding musicians from the north inner city’s music scene including Ian Lynch, John Francis Flynn, Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin, Lisa O’Neill and our own cover star Gemma Dunleavy.

Wednesday March 2, at the IFI, as part of the Dublin International Film Festival.
