ALL ABOARD FOR THE TRIP OF THE SUMMER! COMEDY OFF THE RAILS ARRIVES IN CINEMAS FROM THURSDAY

“A lot of women of a certain age feel they have become invisible, when actually there is no need. You are as vibrant and as meaningful and potent as you were when you were 18. You mustn’t forget it” Jenny Seagrove, Kate

From Bill Kenwright Films comes a journey about rediscovery, friendship and forgiveness. Featuring the music of Blondie, this feelgood romp is a whistle-stop tour across beautiful European locations, reliving memories and making some new ones along the way. Off the Rails’ stellar cast includes Kelly Preston, Jenny Seagrove, Sally Philips, Ben Miller and Franco Nero, and introduces newcomer Elizabeth Dormer-Phillips.

Off the Rails opens exclusively in cinemas this coming Friday (July 23), screening in Dublin at IMC, Omniplex, Movies@, Cineworld and Vue with special previews in select venues from Thursday.

A dying wish from their best friend Anna (Andrea Corr) compels Cassie (Kelly Preston), Kate (Jenny Seagrove), and Liz (Sally Phillips), to put old feuds aside and take her 17-year-old daughter Maddie (Elizabeth Dormer-Phillips) on an interrailing journey across Europe that they did not quite finish during their studies.

Now in their fifties, they are older but not necessarily wiser. With some bad luck, train strikes and romantic entanglements thrown in their way, the trip promises as many laughs and tears and self-discovery as the first time around. The question is: will they reach their destination in time to honour their friend’s memory?

This film sadly marks Kelly Preston’s final on-screen performance prior to her tragic death from breast cancer in July 2020.

[talking about the film] It’s about finding the joy in your life and it’s about change and embracing who you are”. Kelly Preston

The film features remastered classic Blondie, including Call Me, One Way or Another, Dreaming, Heart of Glass, Tide Is High alongside catalogue deep cuts, a cover, and unreleased exclusive tracks such as Tonight.

Off the Rails is a 15A Cert and opens in Ireland from Friday 23 July, previewing on Thursday 22 July at selected venues. Book now
